Dr. Jean Claude Fotsa is one of the five champions of the African Poultry Network and a member of the steering committee.
He is a Research Professor currently working at the Institute of Agricultural Research for Development (IRAD) and is the Director of Mankon Specialized Research Station, Box 125 Bamenda, Cameroon.
He was born in Bamendou (Menoua-Cameroon). He holds an Agricultural Engineering Degree from National Advanced School of Agronomy (ENSA), University of Dschang in 1985, an MSc degree from INA Paris-Grignon 1990, a Doctorate degree from AgroParisTech of Paris - France (2008) in Animal Breeding and Genetics and a PhD in Animal Genetics and Production Systems in the University of Dschang, Cameroon. He is a prolific researcher and has 23 published papers in both national and international recognized journals, 16 conference proceedings and books. These publications are in the field of poultry genetics and breeding. He is member of various Scientific Societies and provides supervision for postgraduate M.Sc and PhD students. Presently, he is the Secretary of Cameroon Branch of WPSA, a member of INFPD and the current Editor-In-Chief of Family Poultry Communications.
